From a very young age I knew my life’s passion lay in sport and exercise. I excelled at sports in high school and as the years passed, I became increasingly interested in learning about optimal fitness and the physical skills needed to improve athletic performance. I wanted to know how the body worked and the science behind it.
My journey started at the University of Western Ontario, where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology. In my four years at Western, I learned the core principles of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics of the body. Shortly after, I attended teacher’s college at the University of Toronto and completed a Bachelor of Education in Physical & Health Education. I also attained my canfitpro certification during this time, allowing me to work as a personal trainer in Canada.
In 2008, I was hired as a personal trainer at a prominent fitness club and quickly advanced into the role of Fitness Manager where my responsibilities included hiring and developing new personal trainers as well as continuing to maintain a personal training clientele.
Knowing that nutrition is a key component to health and fitness, I earned a Nutritional Coach certification from Precision Nutrition to further assist my clients in reaching their goals.
I have developed a new passion, Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). In 2012 I started my path of becoming a Fascial Stretch Therapist. The results and feedback I’ve received from clients has been incredible. This treatment is truly beneficial for everyone. I am now practicing FST in various locations across Canada.
I love helping people achieve their fitness goals and watching the way it changes their lives in ways they never thought possible. Over the years I’ve helped people lose weight, increase strength, increase energy, improve flexibility, reduce pains, change eating patterns and much more. I want to continue to use my knowledge to help people realize the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and the impact it has on all areas in life.
Through my experience I have learned that there are three sides to the health triangle:
When all three are balanced, optimal health is reached.
This is the reason I started Balanced Bodies. I want to provide a holistic approach to fitness and health which guarantees results.
